About Healthy Respect

Healthy Respect is here to support young people to enjoy healthy and respectful relationships.
Healthy Respect is a network of organisations and services dedicated to you, as young people living in Lothian.

So what do we do?

We want you to be able to get accurate, confidential, free and friendly information and advice about anything to do with sexual health and relationships. To make this happen:

  • We make sure there are young people friendly health drop-ins in your area that are designed for your needs.
  • We provide information about sexual health and relationships through this website, leaflets, posters and advertising campaigns.
  • We try to ensure that you get good sexual health and relationships education in your school and youth clubs. To do this, we provide training and resources for teachers, social workers, youth workers and other professionals.
  • We tell others how important it is for you to have access to information and services that are right for you – especially when it comes to your sexual health and relationships. Some people don’t find it easy to talk about young people’s sexual health, but we know it’s an important part of every person. So we talk to politicians, the media, parents and anyone who will listen!
  • We also do lots of research to find out what you need, and how we can support you.

What is Healthy Respect like?
