Healthy Respect aims to create an environment that will lead to long term improvements in the sexual health and wellbeing of young people. It is a Demonstration Project that operates as a non-profit partnership brand.
As a Scottish Executive National Health Demonstration Project it has clear objectives and is being internally and externally evaluated to contribute to the national sexual health and relationships strategy, Respect and Responsibility.
To be an effective non-profit partnership brand there needs to be consistency between: what we value; what we provide and offer others; and the way communication takes place.
Context
A radical shift in culture is needed to address Scotland’s poor sexual health.
Reality
No one organisation or institution can single-handedly meet the sexual health and relationship needs of all young people or affect culture change to support positive relationships.
What is our response?
Improving young people’s sexual health and relationships through partnership working. We seek to do this by promoting culture change and increasing access to information, education and services.
What is partnership
“Partnerships are formed when two or more organisations make a commitment to work together on something that concerns both, to develop a shared sense of purpose and agenda and to generate actions towards agreed targets.” (Duffy 1996)
