Our Education Work

In Phase 2, Healthy Respect continues working to support the delivery of sexual health and relationships education (SRE) programmes at secondary school level. What is new to this phase is the addition of primary schools, where the educational focus is on respectful relationships, and Catholic schools, through relationships and moral education (RME).

Healthy Respect provide training and resources/educational programmes to teachers and other professionals to enable them to deliver educational programmes to young people in schools, pupil referral units and other community settings such as youth groups.

Healthy Respect plays an important role in supporting schools to demonstrate their commitment to health promotion, when taking forward SRE programmes. Schools are encouraged to use their involvement when seeking accreditation as a Health Promoting School. For more information about Healthy Respect and Health Promoting Schools have a look at the "Healthy Promoting School's Briefing Paper" (Feb 06) within the Professional Resources section.
